Starting the year with an eye catching cutout of the S1 #silenthub The crown that threads into the hubshell is excessively long, that its transfer torque capacity and fatigue strength is way beyond the requirement for even motor vehicles! The drive side bearing is nested within the replaceable crown itself, where the bearing can be replaced without removing the crown, and the S1 drive face-gears can be replaced by hand, in similar fashion to DT's Star Ratchets. The ultimate hub for out of bound adventures!

The S1 #silenthub features the Floating Engagement Index that gives 15deg of freehub slack every time before engagement. This means you have 15deg crank rotation when you are at 1:1 gearing ratio, but, however depending on your gearing, you could have more or less slack, therefore shifting up gears strategically could give you the most amount of slack for your long travel setup. The #silent Shogun hub is set at 5.5deg of FEI (that's right, we have two silent hubs!) and one can tune the amount of slack depending on the gearing they choose as well.

how responsive is the Shogun's #silenthub engagement mechanism? set at 5.5 degrees of slack, the coupling and decoupling is always there in an instant as fast as the 5.5 degree cam-plate rotation!

Yes, this is indeed the good ol' true and tested Shogun where we ported the core mechanism from the S1 into its freehub. Which means soon we will be releasing the freehub conversion kit for your current Shogun hubs! true frictionless freewheeling, silence on demand, and becoming a freecoaster! just by popping off the old freehub and sliding the new one in, seamless and tool free. you can also swap back and forth with the old ratcheting freehub if desired.
